mysterious website problems

For some reason mysterious things seem to happen on this site without my knowledge. After the Blogger update which added native comment functionality, comments stopped working on this site. That was something I knew about and expected. Holger of blogkomm updated his commenting software to work with the new Blogger, but there were still some kinks with the fact that this blog doesn't live in the root directory of avisualmind.com. So comments didn't work and I was busy with other things and I just accepted it not working. Then all of the sudden one day, comments started working. Without me doing anything about it. That was kind of cool and all, but they don't work very well because sometimes I add a comment and it doesn't seem to work, so I try it again, and then I'll have two identical comments and I'll have to go in and delete one of them. So be aware, comments are wonky.
Something else that is wonky is that my contact form validation script is malfunctioning. This after having used this contact form for nearly a year without issue. I haven't changed anything. I'll have to investigate the problem, but I don't understand how the same code that has been working just fine for 11 months can suddenly stop working without my having changed a thing. I'm taking the contact form offline for now. Direct inquires to amy at avisualmind dot com.
Update: Comments have been removed (temporarily, I hope) while I try to update to the latest version of blogkomm.
Update 2: Comments have returned.
